I am eager to work with goal-oriented athletes! Someone wanting to improve their performance at any level is my favorite athlete to work with. Maybe you just don't want to suffer on the local Saturday ride. I can help. Are you a beginner? Even better!!! Let's see what you're capable of. If you're time crunched, I can work your program to fit your family/work commitments.

I have almost 40 years in endurance sports as a self-coached athlete. Starting in triathlons ranging from sprint to Ironman distances; including several Xterra World championships. I also have extensive racing experience as a Cat 2/Masters cyclist in all aspects of road racing. Currently, I race gravel at the Grand Master level.

  • Tools: For road/gravel cycling and triathlon, it is ideal that you have a power meter on your bike. A cyclometer or smart watch with heart rate interaction is a minimum requirement.

Fatigue Resistance: Building training programs based upon the event distance and time demands to maintain power and speed in the later parts of the event

Athlete-Specific nutritional calculations specific to event demands and goals: Forming proper calculations of caloric intake requirements matching event and goal demands specific to the athlete’s metabolic needs

Threshold/VO2Max Training: Develop training workloads by way of testing and using analytics for athlete-specific targets based on event  and goal demands

Time-limited athlete training: Build athlete-specific training programs optimizing on limited training time availability due to life/work commitments.

My approach to coaching and training is as wide and varied as my background. I love data-driven methodologies to help guide the artistry of maximizing my athlete's potentials given each person's unique talents and requirements. My training philosophy rests on the following pillars:

1. Is it worth the sacrifice? The joy and fulfillment of training (i.e., its purpose) must be greater than the sacrifices needed to achieve any goal.

2. What's in a Coach? Being called a coach is a privilege that can mean many things: athletic trainer, drill sergeant, best friend, confidant, therapist, mate! Ultimately, my goal is to help you achieve your goals in the shortest possible time and least amount of effort.

3. Train the Whole Person: To achieve any goal, a dynamic plan accounts for the whole of an athlete's life, including their work, family, and personal obligations as they are planned for and as they arise.

4. Data & Science: Data helps guide decisions, but it's not the ultimate decision maker -- meaning data and science must be balanced with the artistry of coaching.
